"Magic property and exceeded our every expectation. We had a lot of family and friends visiting us and it was seamless. Lots of room to be together but also plenary of space to find private quiet space. The whole house is super thoughtfully done, is clean and beautiful. Owners are exceptional people, when they say they practice the Aloha spirit they mean it! Pool and hot tub are dreamy and a perfect place to watch the sunset. Porch is spectacular for viewing the ocean. We went in March and saw a ton of whales! The gardens are beautiful and lush, the roosters, frogs and birds add on to the magic! Kitchen is professional grade and has everything one could need! (We hired a private chef and it worked out beautifully) Work out room was a great addition and also gives you a nice place to read a book in a hammock. Writing this review, I wish I was back there. This place will not disappoint!!"

"Impressive! This property was pretty much perfect. The architecture is very unique and the finish details on the house are flawless. The way the house is spread out, all of the guests had privacy and really felt like we were all staying at a high end resort. The pool is perfect! So nice to have the hot tub as well. The owner Laurens was really great. He comminicated with me and gave us tips on things to do, restaurants, hikes, you name it. He really made the trip amazing and felt like we were friends by the end! Ive been telling everyone i know about this house. I feel its a real bargain based on all you get on the property. We rent vacation properties several times a year, this is up there with the best. And hope to visit again someday!

"I cannot boast enough about how gorgeous this property truly is! If it’s not the ocean breeze, sparkling clean pool, gorgeous decor, or spacious layout with well manicured landscaping that makes you book it, then let it be the property owners. Laurens and Kimberly are always available, extremely accommodating, and for us vital to ensure a wonderful experience! They have numerous tips and recommendations to give, Laurens personally helped with trying to figure out our flight situation when our flights were abruptly cancelled. They showed us the true meaning of ALOHA! The kitchen is stocked with many spices and everything you would need to make a beautiful dinner! Kimberly added a personal touch by sticking drinks we prefer and some delicious Hawaiian snacks, as well as fresh oranges picked that day off a tree on property. The property is very private, but still close to all amenities the town has to offer including just a short, brief drive to KOA airport. "As full time travelers, we've had the great fortune of staying in some incredible locations around the world, but this beautiful home is the single best we've ever experienced. We've never had a more well appointed home from the amazing chef's kitchen to the extensive beach gear to the amazing pool and hot tub. The attention to detail was extraordinary. It was the perfect setting for our entire family, including our 3 year old grandchild. From the very beginning, our hosts and on-site caretakers were exceptional and accommodating. "A truly amazing house. This was by far the best house we have stayed in on the islands! Everything was spotless and gorgeous. The artwork throughout the house was so beautiful, the surround sound Sonos, the chefs kitchen and the pool and hot tub! The view, the grounds/garden, the fresh oranges, avocado, lemons and limes! The bedrooms are so comfortable, the bathrooms had everything you would ever need. The breezes keep it cool at night which we didn’t know we needed! We loved everything about this house and not one complaint. The owners have thought of absolutely everything and have made it such a welcoming haven, we cannot wait to return!"

"My family just left the Heart of Hualalai after a ten day stay with our two adult children, their spouses and children, ages 2 and 4. It was a tropical paradise and the owners take meticulous pride, care and great attention to detail. I am struggling with the words to describe this large estate. The set up of this home was perfect for our family and every thoughtful detail you could imagine was here, including a gourmet kitchen, multiple lanais, heated pool, large bedrooms and more. The Cottage suite allowed us privacy from the other parts of the home and was separated by a beautiful furnished breezeway to the other parts of the home. Each bedroom was beautifully decorated and offered everything and more than we could imagine. We’ve stayed in a number of homes when traveling, but this by far exceeded anything we could have dreamed. Every inch of the Heart of Hualalai was beautifully landscaped, secluded and offered security. Security gates were around the pool offering safety for the children. The owners were wonderful, making sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond. And of course, I must mention the breathtaking sunsets glistening over the water."

"My husband and I stayed here with three other couples and we still can't stop talking about this incredible property. Vacationing with a group can be tricky but we ALL loved being able to relax and recharge in such a comfortable space. The entire home is filled with natural light, thoughtful amenities and perfectly curated decor. The kitchen had everything we needed to make home-cooked meals (when we didn't feel like dining out) and the living room was the perfect spot for movie nights when we were tired from adventuring. It goes without saying that the pool area is a wonderful place to watch the sunset but a few of us realized that the outdoor shower is the perfect way to START the day. Yes, the property is secluded enough that you can take a glorious hot shower outside, looking across the ocean. I won't go into the convenient location or the amazing sunsets, or the beautiful gardens surrounding the house. Instead, I'll share something more personal. Throughout all of our adventures, day-trips, boat rides, and nights out, this house was the one place where our whole group always got along with each other and felt like a family. We learned a lot about the "Aloha Spirit" while in Hawaii and we could really FEEL it in this home."

The owner's passion and dedication to maintaining the home were evident in every detail throughout the property. The breathtaking panorama of the ocean, accompanied by the melodic sounds of nature, and cool breeze made us feel connected to the beauty around us. The owner was attentive & made sure we had everything we needed. Our family of 8, with kids aged 8 to 15, loved searching for ripe fruits in the vast tropical garden to harvest & the inviting pool which they prefer over the local beaches. As an avid cook, I enjoyed the fully-equipped kitchen that allowed me to create everything from quick meals to culinary delights. The multiple lanai & outdoor areas which are perfect for lounging, and the outdoor shower adds to the magical experience. The collection of Asian furniture, art, and outdoor Buddha statues added cultural charm to the property. Overall, our stay at #HeartOfHuaLalai was magical and exceeded all expectations. If you seek a luxurious and nature-immersed getaway, this is the place for you. "We just stayed at the Heart of Hualalai with our two kids (infant + toddler) and our parents. We immediately felt at home and had a truly memorable experience. The house is beautiful, with so many unique and interesting details. It is set up thoughtfully so that multiple families can stay with a good amount of privacy. The owners have curated a beautiful art collection and the house is very high-tech (sonos, apple TV). The rooms are very comfortable and there are tons of books, including kids books. We were a little nervous about not having AC, but it wasn't missed at all. Each room has a ceiling fan and there were nights where it was even a little chilly. The owners provide beach equipment, snorkeling gear, towels, coolers, and really everything you will need for any adventure. The pool and hot tub are great and we loved the hammocks by the pool. The gym is also a nice bonus and we enjoyed looking out to the ocean as we worked out. The property is gorgeous with the most spectacular views of the ocean. We enjoyed exploring the different pathways and picking fruit, and we were lucky enough to harvest apple bananas during our stay, as well as some blood oranges and lemons. The location is great. It is 10 minutes from Kailua-Kona. The owners were always available to answer questions and were really accommodating before, during, and after our stay. They even made sure we had what we needed for our kids. Upon arrival they provided a beautiful welcome basket and there was a binder with very clear house instructions. Another special element for us were the neighbors. They immediately welcomed us as family, bringing over fruit, and sharing tips about the island. We can't wait to return."

"One of kind property! Blown away by the architecture of this home and the landscape of the property. The photos don't capture the feeling you get when you walk in. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. It was so unique compared to the other rentals we’ve visited in the islands. After a long day of excursions, we were always happy to return and settle into the warmth to this home. Some days, we just didn’t want to go into town. We just hung around the house and watched movies, laid by the pool, listened to music and enjoyed the panoramic ocean views. The atmosphere is so relaxing and quiet away from the tourists, except for the roosters that work us up every day when the sun came up! But as city folks, we grew to love waking up to nature and the birds chirping in the trees. The warm pool was a plus as many properties we’ve stayed in did not heat the pool, and the water at this elevation can get very cold. There is no air conditioning at this property, but we were always comfortable. We kept the windows open at night too and sometimes we even got cold, so we needed an extra blanket! Ceiling fans in every room also help with air flow. Since we were here for several weeks, it was great to make our own food and take picnic lunches to the beach. We saved so much money not having to eat every meal out. Healthier too! The house was so well equipped with beach chairs, coolers, boogie boards, etc. We loved the smoker and the pizza oven. SO FUN! Would definitely return."

"Amazing property - Heaven on Earth! We travel to Hawaii with a large group of family and friends a lot and, without exaggeration Heart Of Hualalai was the most beautiful and well equipped rental we have ever stayed at. The listing photos barely do it justice and the property was exactly as described. We cannot say enough about the owners’ attention to detail and their rapid response when we had a minor issue. The views and sunsets were spectacular and the pool and spa a dream. Not a day went by where we didn’t enjoy sunset cocktails in the hot tub or on the lanai bar. The grounds are lush and beautiful - there were even banana fruits growing! We don’t do heat well and the temps up there were perfect for us. It was about 5 to 10 degrees cooler than down at the beach and the cool mountain breezes at night made for great sleeps. The property is located less than ten minutes from downtown Kona and local beaches - Magic Sands was our favorite. We had eleven in our group and everyone was super comfy in the five bedrooms. The master suit was amazing for Mrs. and I. There are so many seating and relaxing areas inside and out – again…attention to detail. The fitness center was an unexpected surprise and a number of us used it every single day. The kitchen was very well equipped and we enjoyed using the BBQ and smoker often. The highlight for us foodies was the wood fired pizza oven. We made some great pizzas and even baked bread once. Highly recommend for your extended stay on The Big Island."

"What a beautiful home! We loved everything about our stay at Heart of Hualalai. The moment you walk through the front door it feels like home. The kitchen is high end, well stocked, and organized. They’ve thought of everything at this property. You won’t have to worry about beach umbrellas, coolers, dry bags, snorkeling gear, beach chairs or towels. It’s all there!! We also loved the decor, it’s vibrant, tropical and refined. Throughout our trip I kept finding small details about the property that added to the charm. The view is amazing! I had my coffee on the patio of the master suite everyday, listening to the birds and looking out at the ocean, so wonderful. We traveled with our two small children and never worried once for their safety. The gorgeous pool/spa area is fully secured, it gives parents peace of mind. Our family spent hours in the pool area, it was a huge hit! They’ve thought of everything at this property, there’s plenty of seating and pool toys. There’s also a pizza oven, BBQ and smoker on-site… we even had a pizza party one day and it was perfect! Need to get some work done? They’ve got you covered. I had to take a work meeting, and it was seamless. The internet is fast and reliable, there’s office supplies available along with desk space in the master suite. It was perfect for my needs. The Host has every detail imaginable in their welcome email, they also have a binder available for ease of use. You won’t have to worry about anything on this trip. So sit back, relax and enjoy the Heart of Hualalai."

"We cannot say enough about all this property has to offer! The owners have created a special little paradise on the big island, away from the bustle of the tourist areas but close enough to explore with a short drive. The pictures online do not capture all that it has to offer. From a gourmet kitchen - outfitted with all the equipment and those sundry items needed if you wish to cook, very comfortable bedrooms, office area, exercise area, tv's, wifi, charging stations, sonos, every detail . . . and local photographs and artwork everywhere you look! Even items for the beach - chairs, boogie boards, etc. It is apparent that the owners also spend time here and very extraordinary that they are prepared to share all they have to offer. We appreciated all the extras that make this a home away from home. This house is so unique and inviting from the moment you drive up with decorating accents to welcome you for your stay. Hats off to the owners of this property! Without question a 10 out of 10 vacation property!"​

"This home is absolutely fabulous! The photos on the website are beautiful but they do not do the place justice. The vistas are breathtaking, from the immense tropical garden surrounding the house to the miles of Kona coastline seen from the lanais. Every room in the home has similar views, including two of the bathrooms. The owners thought of every detail to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Abundant toiletries, bath towels, beach towels, paper goods, exercise equipment, beach equipment, etc. The swimming pool and spa are wonderful. It was so relaxing lounging in the spa watching the beautiful sunsets. The outdoor shower and hammocks are a nice touch as well. The kitchen is a chef's dream. A six burner, double oven, stainless steel gas range, toaster oven, micro-wave, professional cutlery, mixers, blenders, BBQ, smoker, pizza oven, abundant cook wear, utensils, spices, flat wear, etc. A professional gourmet chef could want for nothing more. The only extras you need is the food you eat and beverages you drink. If cooking is not your thing, you are just a few minutes away from a myriad of wonderful restaurants and other pleasant eateries. This was the most wonderful and relaxing getaways we have ever had. We look forward returning to the Heart of Hualalai in the future."

"50 Days In Paradise

From the moment I arrived at the property, I knew it was something very special. Prior to coming, of course, I repeatedly looked at the pictures of the home. Well they do not do this home justice. The lush tropical trees, plants and flowers are amazing and all around the property. Fresh blood oranges, lemons, limes were there for the picking and were a great addition to the mixed drinks. Just walking the grounds immediately sets you at peace. Once you see the massive Pacific coastline from the balconies, pool/spa area, and other rooms, it will take your breath away. I never got tired of staring at its beauty. The home is so spacious, yet it is so warm and comfortable. The kitchen is outfitted with everything you may need to cook and serve with. The bathrooms have many toiletries available to use and they’re are plenty of towels. The bedrooms are quite comfortable, and they all have television sets, clocks and charging docks in them. The pool and hot tub were so refreshing. If you were heading to the beach, there were beach chairs, coolers, umbrellas and beach towels to make sure your day in the sun was perfect. The owners of this home have thought of everything to make their guests happy. They were also readily available if need be and their neighbor, Jason, only contributed to making our trip so memorable.

"The house made the trip feel authentic. Love the layout and hospitality you guys showed us! If I wasn't so ambitious I could have stayed in the home all day. From sleeping with a cool breeze (68 most mornings - we were there June/July) cooking breakfast and dinner while viewing the ocean, to being conveniently located to Hapuna Beach, Kua Bay, Manta Ray Village, and Two-Step. This house has everything. We were genuinely sad to leave. I'm usually happy after a 2 week vacation to get back home, let alone a one month vacation. I want to wish the owners much success and thank you for allowing us into your home. They are people you root for!"

"This property is fabulous! It was obvious from the moment we arrived, and throughout our stay that the owner takes pride in the property and spends time there. The architecture and open layout of the house and property is beautiful. With so many screened doors and windows to open, all areas of the house maintain quite a pleasant temperature and allow you to feel closer to the surrounding nature.
Everything about the Heart of Hualalai is amazing and as advertised in the listing. The owners called to introduce themselves ahead of check in; they extended the offer for us to reach out if we had any questions or issues and provided immediate response and support when we did. Although the photos in the listing are good, they don’t come close to doing justice. We cooked often; the kitchen is in fact well equipped with the whole gamut of cookware and accessories for gourmet meals and with appropriate provisions (flatware, glasses, etc) for 12 guests. The balconies and patios offer a multitude of different options for dining, catching up and relaxing. We caught quite a few spectacular sunsets!
The design, finishes and art are so tasteful! There are themes throughout, and no shortage of amazing local art to look at and admire. The master cottage is so cute and functional; the den/office was wonderful to work in or watch tv before bed on the super comfortable couch. It felt like a retreat any time spent in the cottage and the breeze at night through the master bed made for pleasant rest.
The pool couldn’t be more perfect. The way it is located off the back of the house allows for great views while swimming, looking out over the lush garden. We really liked the adjustable RGB lighting, and the hot tub heats very quickly. The whole area surrounding the pool and hot tub has everything you would want poolside. The outdoor shower has quite an epic view too! The garden all around the house is well maintained and really established a luscious, comforting environment.
A few highlights:
• The kitchen had freshly sharpened Cangshan 17 piece knife set, Kitchen-Aid stand mixer, smorgasbord of utensils, quality Tupperware for days, 13(!) cutting boards and a good assortment of spices, oils etcetera.
• Woodfire pizza oven was a new experience and was super fun to make pizzas as a group
• Everything was very well stocked; bathroom products, paper towels, Kleenex, laundry detergent, trash bags. Pretty much all consumables
• Mesh wifi worked great everywhere
• The Sonos with 11 zones further added to the flow of the property
• Brand new pellet smoker AND four burner gas grill, protected from elements under breezeway
• The fruit harvested from any of the plants on property was very good
• System of overhangs from the roofs allows moving between master cottage, main house and ohana suite without exposure to weather
• Ohana suite was equipped such that a separate family or couple could be self sufficient
• Trash and recycling removed weekly
• Ample towels and linens for house, pool and beach
• Terrific location close to town and ocean, but up above the bustle
I went out on a limb and booked this property with no reviews, although the listing agency had great reviews. I am glad I did and will recommend the Heart of Hualalai to anyone and certainly hope to stay there in the future. Enjoy!"

"Heart of Hualalai is an extremely special property. The details throughout the house in terms of craftmanship and thoughtfulness ensure a unique and wonderful experience. The sunset views are spectacular from the lanai - a perfect spot to enjoy a mai tai or glass of wine. The new pool and hot tub were wonderful additions and allow for fabulous views of the ocean and sunsets. The location of the property is ideal, offering a quiet setting in beautiful Kona coffee country , but also just a short drive from restaurants, shopping and activities in and around Kona. "It was so beautiful and peaceful we were so sad to leave. The house has everything, the kitchen is fantastic! The views are spectacular, sunset on the deck every evening is a must. We meditated in the huge backyard in the mornings and enjoyed long lazy breakfasts on the deck. Just 7 minutes to downtown Kona where theres lots of of fun things to do and see. We found 2 wonderful swimming beaches nearby. Just what we wanted, close to everything but far enough away to be out of the tourist zone and in a private relaxing space. Can't wait to go back!"

"Wow, so awesome and better than expected! The online pictures are great, but you don't really get an appreciation of how amazing it really is until you are there. Yes, the accoutrements are fantastic and will help you comfortably settle right in. However, it's the stunning views from the all over the house, and especially the outside bar where you can enjoy a meal while watching the sunset, that will make you wish you could extend stay and look forward coming back!"
